OQ’s Alternative Energy (AE) business unit is the cornerstone of OQ’s position as a leading sustainable integrated energy company and a new avenue for sustained, long-term growth. We see AE as fundamental to realising our vision of building a locally and globally integrated energy company.
OQ’s AE will have a broad scope across full alternative energy landscape and is predicated on three pillars: Green Molecules, Energy Assets, as well as Energy Efficiency and Optimisation.
Green Molecules

By identifying green products and green chemicals that OQ can produce and market, such as green hydrogen, green synthetic fuel, green ammonia and green methanol, we complement OQ's Upstream and Downstream business units' production and Commercial's marketing and sales.
Energy Assets

Integration also means further possibilities for adapting and testing new technological solutions for safer and sustainable oil exploration and extraction.
Developing green energy such as renewables, biofuels, CCUS, etc. to enable the energy transition from conventional energy within and outside OQ.
Energy Efficiency and Optimisation

Supporting the optimisation of power and gas as well as energy efficiency efforts in OQ assets.
Through AE, we aim to achieve a global footprint, leveraging existing OQ assets around the world to generate a diversified revenue stream of over $400M EBITDA from AE by 2030. This will allow us to position OQ as one of the global leaders in AE and the Middle East’s alternative energy leader, provide us with our “social license to operate” by reducing OQ’s carbon footprint, and place us an employer of choice.
