Polypropylene

OQ's expansion of our polypropylene offerings allows us to work collaboratively with polymer converters and brand owners to develop world-class solutions for an increasingly sophisticated market. From responding to the needs of sustainability-conscious consumers to improving product branding with enhanced aesthetics, we are focused on optimising our polypropylene offerings.
Our new portfolio also includes a range of polypropylene impact and random copolymers. These resins provide a broader spectrum of characteristics allowing the manufacturing of high performance products for rigid and flexible packaging, durable goods, including appliances, automotive and healthcare etc.

Polyethylene

In addition to bolstering our polypropylene product range, OQ is pioneering the Sultanate's first production of polyethylene. LPIC provides us with the ability to serve the fast-growing demand for polyethylene across global markets efficiently.
We are now producing HDPE, high-density polyethylene, and LLDPE, linear low-density polyethylene for target applications in the flexible and rigid packaging segments as well as for infrastructure and construction applications.
Specific advantages of polyethylene are its ease of processing, durability and chemical resistance properties. Given the added toughness and low temperature impact resistance, it's a polymer type of choice for industrial applications as well as daily items such as liquid laundry detergent bottles and jerry cans.
Oxo derivatives and intermediates

OQ is a pioneer of the oxo process, as the founder of the groundbreaking techniques that have permitted the development of oxo intermediates and derivatives such as carboxylic acids, polyols, amines or specialty esters.
Most oxo intermediates are typically converted to oxo derivatives in plants adjacent to the hydroformylation units. Our oxo intermediates and oxo derivatives are provided to customers who use them to improve performance of various application materials such as coatings, lubricants, plasticisers, inks, paints, cosmetics, additives and other materials. We are proud of being one of the world's largest suppliers of oxo chemicals. OQ's portfolio comprises 70 products used in a wide variety of applications around the globe.
